India to unveil new jersey on October 13

With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, some of the participating teams have already unveiled their national jerseys for the mega event. However, India is set to reveal its World Cup jersey on October 13. The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) did so on their official Twitter account to make the announcement on the matter.

BCCI also added an appropriate caption to the post. “The moment we’ve all been waiting for!” Join us for the big reveal on October 13th only on @mpl_sport. Are you excited? ”The caption read. The Tweet received plenty of feedback in which fans said they were hoping the original light blue colored jersey would make a comeback this time around for the flagship event. MPL sports will sponsor the Indian team jersey for the top level ICC tournament.

India previously opted for the retro dark blue jersey in the white ball series against Australia in 2020. India will kick off their World Cup campaign with two warm-ups against England and Australia the 18th and 20th. The team will then face off against their Pakistani rivals for their opening match of the tournament.

T20 World Cup to be Virat Kohli’s last assignment as Indian T20 captain

Recently, Virat Kohli has announced that he will step down as captain of India’s T20 team after the upcoming T20 World Cup. Days later he also announced that this would be his last year as RCB captain and that after this season he will only play as a franchise player.

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri is also expected to make way for another candidate after the World Cup. Bowling coach B Arun and defensive coach R Sridhar are also said to be on their last assignment with the Indian squad.

While on the other hand, MS Dhoni was named Team India’s mentor for the mega event. The former skipper had a successful journey with the team as he led India to the glory of the three ICC trophies. His experience should help the team led by Virat Kohli to have a bigger impact in the tournament.
